Visit Acapulco
Set in gorgeous natural surroundings, Acapulco offers an enormous range of attractions and activities. Calm, sunny beaches and exuberant vegetation that surrounds one of the loveliest bays in the Pacific blend seamlessly with major hotel complexes, superb restaurants and wonderful night clubs.
On nearby Acapulco Bay beaches, independent operators rent personal watercraft and motor boats and book para sailing flights and banana-boat rides. Hiking in the Sierra Madre Mountains surrounding Acapulco, horse riding on ocean beaches noted for surfing, and jet-boat river trips are popular activities. Acapulco has four championship 18-hole golf courses, all located in the same area.
Away from Acapulco's most exclusive beach, Revolcadero, where you can enjoy an array of water sports and activities...or just worship the sun and relax in the shadow of a tropical palm tree, the rugged terrain of the majestic Sierra Madre Mountains is the ideal setting for adventurous pursuits.
In the city of Acapulco, Mexican tradition and modern-day convenience intersect at the many galleries and shopping opportunities. After dark, Acapulco's legendary nightlife explodes into the early hours of the morning.

| Shopping Acapulco
Depending where you do your shopping and how good your bargaining skills are, you can return home from your vacation with bags of treasures from all over Mexico. The best arts and crafts are made in other parts of Mexico, but as a tourist destination, many of these find their way to Acapulco. The prices are somewhat higher than if you purchased them at the source, but if you do not have time for a side trip to Taxco, Ixtapa, or Tepoztlan (see our tours) you can buy some great gifts and souvenirs in Acapulco. |
