The most agreeable temperatures occur in spring and autumn, but this coincides with the rainiest months, so don’t forget to pack an umbrella. The temperate climate means that spring and autumn are normally warm and sunny and are more comfortable times to visit. During peak summer season, it can get very hot. The best period to visit, in regards to comfortable temperature, is April to June – although June has high rainfall – when the weather is sunny without being stifling, the countryside bursts into life with spring flowers, and the flood of summer tourism has yet to manifest itself.
